"Can you Karaoke?" or "Will you karaoke?"

I went to see the third installment of the Twilight Saga, Eclipse, today. Even though I didn't think it was amazing, I do have to give them credit for being able to shove a 600 page book into a 2 hr. movie. THAT takes SKIZZLEZ. Not to mention the gigantic "medium" soda I was given at the theater. I couldn't even finish a fourth of that thing. In two hours.
However, the absolute BEST part of my day was going to a barbecue at my mother's cousin's house! I played War (the card game) with a friendly senior and I'm sorry to say that he brutally beat me twice. However, I conquered him once, so it wasn't a complete and utter failure on my part....
After dinner, we proceeded to the living room to... karaoke. Yes, some of you may freeze when you hear that word. Why, you ask?

"Oh, come on, you HAVE to sing!"
"No! No way! I told you I'm not doing that, I just want to watch!"
"Don't be such a party pooper, pick up the mic!"
"Yeah, come on, it's easy and it's fun!"
*you then proceed to run to the deepest corner of the room and hide your face in shame*
"No."

So you see, karaoke can be a traumatic experience for those who aren't prepared, and I have to admit, at first I was reluctant. But after some provoking and DEFINITE prodding I finally gave in, picked up the mic, and went supersonic to sing "I'll Be There" by the Jackson 5. I gave it my all, and it ended up being pretty fun! Everyone was laughing because, of course, I didn't try to be serious. AT ALL.
If you haven't heard of it, you may want to look it up: The Sketchbook Project 2011. Basically, you can pay $25 online to get a small sketchbook shipped to you, and you fill it with whatever you like. Once you finish, you send it back to Art House Co-op (The people running it) and it will go on tour around America on several exhibitions. These exhibitions will take place at Libraries so that people will be able to check out your book and look through it, and return it when they are finished. But the best part? Each sketchbook has their own barcode so that you can be notified each and every time someone checks out your sketchbook, and there are settings to change the regularity of them. Also, for an extra $20, you can get your book digitalized and put onto Art House's website, for the world to see (in case the world's been too busy to go to an exhibition).
This project sounded absolutely FANTASTIC to me, so I convinced my parents to sign me up. My sketchbook is on its way and should be here any day now. What I didn't know at first, however, is that they also paid the extra $20 to have mine digitalized, so I can see it whenever!
Overall, today has been wonderful, but tomorrow should be even better, because a good friend of mine is coming back from camp, and I can't wait to see her! So toodle-oo!
